Black Friday is one of the best times all year to buy appliances. Almost every retailer will offer all kinds of amazing deals. If past history is any indicator, then Lowe's will be one of the stores slashing prices on major appliances.

If you've been wanting to upgrade your kitchen or laundry room, it's worth holding off on until Black Friday sales start. You can save hundreds of dollars by being patient.

Lowe's hasn't announced any of their sales for 2024 yet, so we can't say for certain which specific models will go on sale this year. However, by looking at last year's sale, we can get some idea of what kind of deals you should expect to see. You've probably got specific appliances on your wishlist, and it's worth it to consider: should you buy them now, or wait until Black Friday?

Here are a few appliances we think you should consider waiting until Black Friday to buy them at Lowe's.

Refrigerators

Refrigerators are one of the most expensive appliances in your home, so it makes sense to wait for the best deal you can get. Last year, Lowe's offered deep discounts on certain models, making Black Friday the best time all year to shop.

A great example is the Whirlpool 24.6 cu ft side-by-side refrigerator. It's currently listed at $1,098, which is already roughly $600 off the list price. But last Black Friday, the same model dropped to $899 — $200 is a big difference, as that's almost half off the full price.

If you have time to hold off, buying your new fridge on Black Friday at Lowe's is worth the wait. The discounts aren't guaranteed to be the same this year, but there's a good chance you'll see a similar price drop on models like this one.

Washer and Dryer Sets

Washer and dryer sets are another item where you should keep an eye out for deals. Last Black Friday, Lowe's had a significant discount on the Maytag washer and dryer Pet Pro set.

While the set is currently priced at $848 for each unit, the combined price last year was only $1,396 for the pair — that's about $300 less than what you'd pay now.

Black Friday tends to have deals like this, where a washer and dryer are sold together at a bigger discount. Sometimes it can be worth it to upgrade and buy both at once, even if you only need to replace one.

Dishwashers

Black Friday sales will usually bring down the costs on dishwashers, too. For example, the 24-inch Eco-series dishwasher from Whirlpool is currently priced at $598, but last year it went for $579 during Black Friday.

Meanwhile, the KitchenAid 360 Max Jets model is currently being sold at $848, but last year's Black Friday sale had it down to $849. If you're willing to wait until the holiday season, that's $100 you could be saving.

If you're redoing your whole kitchen, or doing other home upgrades where you're already spending a lot, savings like this can be a lifesaver.

Electric Ranges

You can also find great deals on ranges at Lowe's during Black Friday, so it could be a smart move to wait instead of buying now. In 2023, they had good deals on several electric models.

One example was a smart electric range from Samsung that's currently listed at $629. However, last Black Friday, it was going for $599. Once again, these kinds of savings add up when you're upgrading multiple appliances all at once.
