McDonald's Confirms $5 Meal Coming This Year, Will Only Be Available For A Limited Time

UNDATED (WKRC) - McDonald's confirmed its new $5 meal promotion will come to restaurants nationwide later this year.

According to CBS News, the $5 meal promo will only be offered for around a month. Per the network, citing a source familiar with the promotion, the menu will launch on June 25.

Customers can choose from the following menu items, per CBS:

  • A McChicken
  • A McDouble
  • Four piece chicken nuggets
  • Each order comes with fries and a drink, according to CBS.

"We know how much it means to our customers when McDonald's offers meaningful value and communicates it through national advertising. That's been true since our very beginning and never more important than it is today," McDonald's USA told the network.

Bloomberg first reported the fast-food giant's plans to launch the $5 promo deal, which first required approval from franchise owners, according to CBS, which reported that the company received consent this week.

"Great value and affordability have always been a hallmark of McDonald's brand, and all three legs of the stool are coming together to deliver that at a time when our customers really need it," McDonald's franchise owner John Palmaccio said, per CBS.

In an earnings call on April 30, McDonald's CEO Chris Kempczinski said the company needed to remain "laser focused" on keeping prices affordable for customers.

"Consumers continue to be even more discriminating with every dollar that they spend as they face elevated prices in their day-to-day spending, which is putting pressure on the industry," Kempczinski said, per CBS. "It's imperative that we continue to keep affordability at the forefront for our customers."

    How we source coupon codes

The coupons you'll find on Tom's Guide have been sourced by our dedicated coupons team, who use the web, our relationships with retailers, & our affiliate networks to find the latest codes. The offers on each coupon page are updated every few days to ensure we feature the freshest ways to save, and our commercial team (based in London) also sources exclusive codes and sales info directly from some of the biggest retailers around.

    How we test coupon codes

All the coupon codes we list on our pages have been tested by our deals & offers teams to check they work as intended before they've been uploaded. You'll find a wide range of coupons on Tom's Guide, including free shipping offers, student discounts, and savings on various kinds of products.

To ensure that all listed codes are available to use, we don't include any one-time use or user-specific coupons. We also provide as much information as we can to keep things as clear as possible - any expiry dates or terms & conditions will be listed alongside the code. Look for the 'Terms & Conditions' text - you'll be able to click this to expand this section for more details.

What to do if a coupon code doesn't work

We take care to only list tried & tested coupons on our pages, so all codes should be active and confer the listed discount or deal. However, although we keep up to date with expiry dates and any terms & conditions, sometimes retailers change these before we can update our pages.

Should a coupon fail to work as expected, check you meet any listed requirements. These can include minimum spends, multibuy offers, or product-specific promotions (i.E. 10% off selected tablets). You can view all associated requirements by clicking "View terms and conditions" below your code.

If this does not solve your issue, you can contact our customer service team by emailing coupons.Tomsguide@futurenet.Com. Make sure to let us know which coupon you were trying to use and which page this was listed on, and we'll be in touch to help as soon as possible.

    How we make money

Tom's Guide makes money from coupons through a commission-based model. We have agreements in place with each retailer on our site - for every purchase made using one of our coupons or deals, we earn a small percentage of the order total back in commission.

Thanks to this model, we can save our customers money without charging them a thing. You won't pay a penny to get the discounts listed on our pages, so whichever code or deal you choose, you'll get exactly what it says on the tin.

Team Nathan Buzzing After Hallmark Reveals Next Week's Intense WCTH Trailer Early

    Hallmark/Heavy Nathan and Elizabeth

Hallmark released a "When Calls the Heart" trailer early, and Team Nathan fans can't stop talking about it. The promo for season 11 episode 5 (airing on May 5) quietly dropped the morning before episode 4 had even aired. It features some key moments between Nathan and Elizabeth that many viewers have been eagerly waiting for.

The Trailer for 'Stronger Together' Features Nathan Confronting Elizabeth About Her Feelings

Season 11 episode 5, called "Stronger Together," is airing on Sunday, May 5. The synopsis reads: "Hickam and Lee clash with the mayor of Benson Hills, and Gowen suggests a solution with huge implications for the town. Elizabeth and Nathan clear up a misunderstanding."

The early-released trailer is getting a lot of attention. You can watch it below, shared by a viewer on X.

The trailer begins by showing Nathan happening upon Lucas and Elizabeth talking, where Lucas is telling her: "I just wanted to leave my past behind me." And Elizabeth says with a smile, "Well, it keeps finding you."

The next scene shows Elizabeth watching longingly as Nathan rides by on his horse. And Rosemary tells Elizabeth: "Minds and hearts don't always agree."

Then we see Lucas having a heart-to-heart with Nathan, sharing: "I'd rather have her as a friend than not have her in my life at all."

And in the next scene, Allie is worried about Nathan, saying, "I just don't want you to get hurt."

But then it's the next scene in the trailer that has fans talking. Nathan asks Elizabeth, "What am I to you? I mean, are we just friends?" And it shows Elizabeth looking back at him, about to respond.

It looks like Elizabeth is going to be forced to face her growing feelings for Nathan, and perhaps admit to them.

StarwatchByline also shared the trailer on Instagram.

One person replied, "Oh my does it finally happen??? Can't wait."

And on X, viewers couldn't stop raving about the trailer.

One person wrote: "Go Nathan!!! It's time for Elizabeth to let this gorgeous man know where he stands. #Hearties #WCTH Yeah I know it's going to take a couple more episodes before they work it all out. 😍"

Another person wrote, "Go Elizabeth! Nathan deserves the truth about your feelings towards him."

Promotional Photos Reveal More Details About Episode 5

Although the trailer shows that there will be a big moment between Nathan and Elizabeth, Hallmark's promotional photos for the episode only feature Nathan once, and that's when he's in the background of a group shot.

There are quite a few pictures with Lucas, and the trailer does hint that Lucas has some pretty serious heart-to-heart talks with both Elizabeth and Nathan.
