Uber Eats is offering 50% off pick up orders in Toronto this Saturday | Dished - Daily Hive

In an effort to support small businesses in Toronto, Uber Eats is launching
"Small Business Saturday" to encourage take-out orders.

Starting November 7, Uber eats is encouraging customers through a new initiative to support local restaurants and is providing a 50% discount on all pick-up orders.

Every Saturday in November, Uber eats will be providing that discount on pick-up orders in Toronto, however, only 20,000 redemptions are available each week.

"Using the "Pickup" option in the Uber Eats app allows customers to go out and get their meal directly from the restaurant at a 0% service fee to the restaurant to help restaurants reduce costs – a feature that has been extended to March 31, 2021," said Uber Eats Canada.

The company hopes that by this effort, people will get outside and discovered small businesses that need support at this time.

"So many restaurants have taken a hit because of COVID-19 so we're happy to see Uber Eats step up and give customers even more opportunity to support local businesses like ours," said Craig Buckely, Owner of Kettlemans Bagel.

"As we launch our newest location in Toronto during the pandemic, programs like Uber Eats Small Business Saturday will allow new customers to come in and see what Kettlemans is all about while helping us save on delivery costs."

The first 20,000 pick up orders will receive the discount after it goes live at 2 pm eastern.
